Grow currants in well-drained soil, which has been enriched by adding plenty of well-rotted manure. Choose a slightly sheltered spot, and although plants prefer full sun, they will tolerate dappled shade. Protect from frost at flowering time by covering the plants at night. They crop best in a sunny position. They will tolerate a wide range of soil conditions, but prefer a moist well-drained soil.

Comments Warnings :  White currant berries are a bit smaller and sweeter than red currants. They are sometimes used to make "pink" jams and jellies (a mixture of white and red). The white currant is actually an albino cultivar of the red currant but is marketed as a different fruit. They contain many vitamins and minerals including Vitamin A, C, E, K, B12, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Phosphorus.
