It makes an striking low hedge with attractive pink-tipped foliage that attracts birds. A hardy shrub to 1m, it grows prolifically in coastal areas. It needs an assured moisture level and some overhead tree shelter in areas of severe frosts.

Comments Warnings : The soft pulp is described as being one of the most delicious of all bush foods. The whole fruit can be eaten. It has a sweet mildly aromatic flavour with soft skin. The delicate berries are sweet and tangy and make a flavoursome jam. The small whitish/grey fruits were collected in huge quantities by coastal aboriginal tribes.
