Lemon Balm
Lemon Balm

  • Price: $7.00

Found in sunny fields and along roadsides with a high sandy, loamy soil. The leaves give off a strong lemon scent. Lemon balm is a hardy perennial plant, part of the mint family tolerating heat and cold. It prefers a well drained sandy soil but will tolerate a range of varying conditions. It grows in clumps and spreads vegetatively as well as by seed. In mild temperate zones the stems of the plant die off at the beginning of winter but shoot again in spring.

Comments Warnings : Lemon Balm is popular both as a medicinal and culinary plant. Leaves are used raw or cooked. It is a popular tea made from fresh or dried leaves. See link for more details. Ref: PFAF.
