Brazillian Guava
Brazillian Guava

  • Price: $15.00

Guavas are cultivated in many tropical and subtropical countries. Mature trees of most species are fairly cold-hardy and can survive temperatures slightly colder than 4°C for short periods of time, but younger plants will likely freeze to the ground. They are one of the few tropical fruits that can grow to fruiting size in pots indoors and can therefore be of interest to gardners in temperate areas. When grown from seed, guavas can bear fruit as soon as two years, or as long as eight years.

Comments Warnings : This guava is suitable for baking and preserving. It makes a distinctive jelly which some consider superior to common guava jelly. It can also be eaten fresh. The fruit is rich in Vitamins A and C and the seeds are rich in omega 3, omega 6 polyunsaturated fatty acids and dietary fibre.
